Nelle prime pagine si era configurato un evento catastrofico e adrenalico, in grado di incuriosire enormemente il lettore, ovvero il fatto che l'astronauta, facendo le manovre per tornare sulla Terra, venisse attaccato e ucciso da uno strano parassita alieno come se non bastasse la nuova creatura in realtà è sopravvissuto alla distruzione dell'abitacolo a causa dell'atmosfera terrestre ed è diventata qualcosa di nuovo e altamente letale, in grado di ingigantirsi mangiando esseri viventi.ĭell'astronauta non rimane che l'ombra e qualche ricordo/associazione.
